Here's a Free Language Journal for You to Write in Your TL π
A 14-Day Downloadable Prompt-based Language Journal to Help Your Output
Hey everyone! I know itβs not a Sunday, but by that time I'll already be disconnected, deep in the beautiful Japanese countryside, and unfortunately missing the Japanese Language Proficiency Test because of some last-minute changes to my fall/winter break plans.
This post is a bit different from the usual because I finally created a document that's been on my mind for the better part of the year β a language journal for anyone whoβd like to get consistent writing output in their target language! As December is just around the corner, it is a fitting time to reflect on our language skills and set clear goals for entering 2024.
The Plan
I intend to use my language journal on a weekly (or even bi-weekly) basis with Goodnotes, where I can either write or type my entries. In fact, I've added a section on my page called, Journal Entries, where I'll be publishing what I wrote along with text-to-speech along with an English translation version of what I thought I said!
If you are interested in finding a language journaling accountability partner, you are welcome to join me at any time. Feel free to use the journal prompts whenever it suits you, whether it's daily, weekly, or any day you have time for it. There's no strict schedule to follow. Additionally, this journaling challenge is open to individuals of all language proficiency levels. You have the freedom to provide responses that are as simple or as detailed as you prefer.
Iβve just published my first entry and you can add yours in the comments. Alternatively, you could also create your own post and tag me. Please feel free to choose the approach that suits you best. What do you think,
, , and ? π₯ΊDownload Link + Feedback
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this as it helps to refine and improve the document (and upcoming ones) for all of us. Feel free to download the journal using the link provided and after giving it a try, let me know what you liked, didnβt like and what I can do to make it better!

Thank you for the prompts, Shea! Readers are going to think we're working together, we posted about writing in your TL at the same time! π
Your journal looks very neat, I can totally picture this in a "1 prompt a day" yearly journal. I can see you love making these things, I bet you went to bed late when inspiration hit. π
This is so exciting!! Thank you for creating this.
I really like the idea of writing what you think you said as well. Sometimes we focus on the mistakes we made rather than noticing how close we were to conveying what we really meant.
I'm a bit nervous but I think I'll give it a go with French!
